RE: Nebraska Wine & Jazz Festival

Kearney, Nebraska – The Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce announces they are looking ahead to the 2009 Nebraska Wine & Jazz Festival.  They are working in conjunction with the Kearney Visitors Bureau and the Downtown Improvement Board to host the 2nd Nebraska Wine & Jazz festival which will be held downtown on “The Bricks” during the month of May.

“We look forward to participating in further dialogue with the Downtown Improvement Board and the many chamber members from the Bricks on how the Wine and Jazz Festival can work for all involved”, said Greg Shea, executive director. “The chamber recognizes the importance of a downtown event that is unique and exclusive to this specific business sector or our community.”

The goal is to implement a committee to sustain this annual signature event for Kearney and “The Bricks” and expand to include more wineries and exhibitors products from around the state.

Roger Jasnoch, Director of the Kearney Visitors Bureau states “We are excited to create new partnerships that will ensure the Nebraska Wine & Jazz festival becomes an annual event that will benefit the Kearney area.”

The Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce, the Kearney Visitors Bureau and the Downtown Improvement Board are collaborating together to form a Wine & Jazz committee which will coordinate, plan & execute the May event. The committee will be formed within the next 30 days and the 2009 date will be set within the next 60 days.

If you’re interested in being apart of the Wine & Jazz committee or to be a sponsor for this great community event please contact Kristi Unick at 308-237-3494 or email kunick@kearneycoc.org or Shana Thomas at 308-237-4671 or email sthomas@kearneycoc.org .
