LINDA GARCIA-PEREZ
Linda Garcia-Perez, an award-winning Mexican-American Chicana artist, incorporates traditional Mexican folk art methodology in her work, which is on view in MONA’s Mujeres exhibition. Her irresistible fervor for paper is contagious, channeled into traditional cut-paper techniques and poignant paper-formed objects. The morning begins with the Mexican paper cutting and folding technique known as papel picado. In the afternoon, Linda introduces more complex papel picado techniques as well as tools and papers to make cards, three-dimensional flowers, and paper shoes. Please bring one smooth, clear glass quart jar with a lid. All other supplies are provided.
