Windmills and Sandhill Cranes

March 20 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Tom Oshlo Presentation on Windmills:
Participants will gather near the large Railroad Windmill at the park entrance. Event participants will park in the loop near Lake #1 and walk to the presentation site under the Railroad Windmill. Guests will hear a presentation from Tom Oshlo and be able to view windmill weight collection and parts while learning about windmills. Event
participants will be able to self-tour the other two windmills following the presentation.
Sandhill Cranes:
This event is taking place near the peak of the sandhill crane migration, allowing
participants to see and hear cranes throughout the presentations. If weather prevents us from having the event as described, the presentations will be
at the large group picnic shelter with proper social distancing. Park visitors will also be encouraged to stay after the presentation to view cranes from the viewing blind area.
Due to safety precautions, the viewing blind will remain closed and not available for use.
A park volunteer or the park naturalist will be on hand to answer any questions visitors may have on cranes during this time.
