Hope and Healing Life Intervention Project – Suicide Prevention

The community is coming together to provide an opportunity to hear speakers, be involved in panel discussions, learn about suicide postvention and local resources. The Community Gathering Event will take place at the World Theater, 2318 Central Ave, in Kearney on Monday, March 27. Event is free of charge. The session will run 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.

Panelists have been selected to work together to answer questions about current resources in our community, ideas for ways to support youth and adults regarding suicide, grief and depression. Panelists will be prepared to address common myths that individuals hear regarding suicide and how a community can get involved to learn the facts.

Panelists will represent Region 3 Behavioral Health Services, Central NE LOSS, University of Nebraska at Kearney, City of Kearney Police Department, Kearney Public Schools, mental health professionals, faith community, youth advocates, HealthyMINDS Collaborative, and Buffalo County Community Partners
Community members can pose questions in a forum where speakers will provide answers through sharing resources, training and programs.
