Junior Curator Show: Spatial Awareness

May 11, 2018 @ 10:00 am

Junior Curator Show: Spatial Awareness
May 11 – July 29, 2018
A select group of Kearney High School students works with the Museum of Nebraska Art staff to conceptualize, select, and install an exhibition of artworks primarily drawn from MONA’s collection. The experiential learning expands their knowledge of art, museums, and careers. Spatial Awareness explores how artists use space to create the illusion of a “sense of place” on a flat surface, depend on space to give shape and form to their work, or bend space to distort reality to explore the potential of this visual element.

2018 Junior Curators: Claire Bean, Trinity Burton, Destiny Henne

Image: Robert Adams, Nebraska State Highway 2, Box Butte County, Nebraska, 1978, gelatin silver print; printed 1989; Museum Purchase made possible by Marilyn F. Belschner Arts Endowment Fund, Museum of Nebraska Art
