Working

March 11, 2022 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Kearney Community Theatre presents

working (2012 revised)

Adapted by Nina Faso and Stephen Schwartz
Directed by Judy Rozema

Thursday March 3, 2021 – Sunday March 13, 2021
Thursdays through Sundays (Matinees on Sundays)

Based on Studs Terkel’s best-selling book of interviews with American workers, Working celebrates our search for meaning and satisfaction in the daily grind. You’ll meet a schoolteacher, waitress, millworker, mason, and housewife, to name a few. Nominated for six Tony Awards, this funny and poignant musical features songs by Tony Award-winning Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton), Stephen Schwartz (Pippin, Wicked), and James Taylor. Suitable for older youth and adults.

“Ordinary people are extraordinary just by being themselves, doing their routine jobs and living their humdrum lives. They speak of the lost dreams, hopes and desires of a nation. The [songs are] funny, tragic, perceptive and thought-provoking, written and sung from the heart.” –Stage Review

Box Office Opening Dates:
Season Ticket Holders: February 15 & 16
General Public: February 17
