Yanney Park

Yanney Heritage Park is unique in the fact that it is a donor-driven park. Each component of the park has been donated by an individual, family or group.

This destination park draws people from the region. The 80’ Gottschalk Tower is the centerpiece to the park and overlooks the lake, amphitheater, splash pads, playgrounds, marina, flower gardens and more. The Peterson Senior Activity Center was added in 2010 and provides programming, meals, and classes for its users. The park routinely hosts large special events, including Heritage Day, Crane River Theater performances and Relay for Life.

The newest addition completed in fall 2021, The Gardens is now open at Yanney Park! Phase 1 is now open adding winding trails, Pollinator, Liliac, Hydrangea, and Native Nebraska Gardens, as well as multiple public art installations.

Phase II will add four remaining gardens: Annuals, Rose, Xeriscape and Edibles, along with the Center Courtyard and a reflecting pond. The second phase is anticipated to be completed by October 2022, depending on fundraising.

Phase III will complete the project with a pavilion, gazebo, trailhead and parking lot.  The third phase will start when funds are in place, and can begin before or concurrent with Phase II. The Yanney Park Heritage Park Foundation‘s goal is to have it completed by 2023.
