NEFFM 10 year Anniversary & Smokey Bear’s Birthday Party

2019 Marks the 10 year anniversary of the Nebraska Firefighters Museum & Education Center / Nebraska Firefighters & EMS Memorial. As well as Smokey Bear’s 75th Birthday. So to celebrate both events we will be having a Fire Truck Show & Shine, Kids Games, Entertainment, Demonstrations and More! Anyone wanting to participate in the BBQ and or Show and Shine please contact us to save a spot and let us know what you might need!

OP-Original Patina Rat Rod Build Off Drive Off

The OP-Original Patina Rat Rod caravan of built vehicles will be stopping in Kearney on Thursday evening, August 15th. They will be heading up to the Hilltop Mall for dinner with 3 local food trucks and then hitting the road again on Friday morning heading out for Scottsbluff.

The ‘OP’ Original Patina Rat Rod Build Off. Drive to The High Plains Riot in Mitchell, NE in 2019. Participants will meet in Mitchell at the Scottsbluff County Fair Grounds on August 16, 2019. Rules will include 1) Build must be Original Patina — no new paint 2) Must drive the build to the High Plains Riot. A mileage minimum will be set for those coming from far away. 3) Build must be a 1964 or older vehicle (no Mustangs allowed).

8:30 p.m. – Q&A with Scholars, followed by closing remarks, World Theater

Bring a picnic or buy from the vendors. Enjoy an evening out with some free music and the company of about 350 other music lovers!
We appreciate the support of Kearney KENO funding as well as other generous supporters and those who donate throughout the year or during “pass the hat”
This year we are adding the Arc of Buffalo County as a vendor. They will have honey and other items for sale that benefit those who participate in Arc activities such as Special Olympics.
We happily announce that the Boy Scouts will be back selling cold water & popcorn. Tropical Sno is back too!
Please note there is one Sunday we will not be having a concert. (June 30th)This is due to the Community Olympics going on that day in Harmon Park.
***You might be seeing something NEW: On June 23rd we welcome for the first time Root Marm Chicken Farm Jug Band from the Lincoln area. On that evening we encourage concert guest to come dressed in your finest Hillbilly outfits! You might win a PRIZE!
