American Semiquincentennial

Kearney Symphony Orchestra will present a feast of American music, celebrating America’s semiquincentennial. Works on the concert include, “Variations on America” (Charles Ives), “The Tender Land Suite” (Aaron Copland), arrangements of “Stars and Stripes Forever” and “America the Beautiful”, plus works by John Williams, Duke Ellington, Leroy Anderson, and selections from Meredith Willson’s “The Music Man”. The concert will also feature the second UNK concerto-aria winner soprano Sayo Kajiyama singing an aria by Donizetti.
Join the Kearney Symphony Orchestra to celebrate its 120th season with Interim Conductor/Music Director Erin Beave. Enjoy a broad variety of orchestra works played by Nebraska’s oldest orchestra. This concert is family friendly and seating in the UNK Fine Arts Recital Hall is accessible to all. A pre-concert talk for ticket holders begins at 6:30pm. See you at the symphony!
