Kearney Trail Run
October 4, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Trail runs are becoming more and more popular; they aren’t just your ordinary runs. Trail running provides a different workout than track or road running does. The uneven terrain forces one to make use of a variety of muscles that tend to be unused when running on flat terrain. The monotony is gone as participants race across varying terrain, plant life and wildlife.
Kearney Park and Recreation is coordinating the Kearney Trail Run on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Cottonmill Park. The Kearney Trail Run will be a 5k run. There will be a loop consisting of varying terrain, grass, dirt, and cement trails, ascents, descents and more!
Trail Running is for all levels and ages of athletes. Divisions will be: 14 & Under, 15-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
Our goal is to attract over 100 participants. We want to promote local trails and trail running and grow the number of active trail runners in the Kearney area. We want to provide a new and unique run for the Kearney Community and surrounding areas.
This Race is part of the Kearney Race Series. For more information about the Kearney Race Series go to www.kearneyraceseries.org.
