Begun in the 19th century by Plains Indians in forced confinement during the Reservation Era, ledger artworks include paintings and drawings of Native American figures rendered on 19th century ledger paper. Wilcox, an enrolled member of the Oglala Lakota, is a self-taught artist who has been creating work since 1984.
